Ok, this isn’t new, but it can’t hurt being repeated:
DO research your photographer and
DON’T skimp on your photographer’s fees.
Of course, a high fee is no guarantee for good photography either. But the laws of supply and demand will usually put the beginners, the amateurs and the black sheep into the cheap corner.
Beware wedding photographers, if you deliver crap you might be dragged into court.
This judge spews technical jargon while slamming the two lady photographers for using entry-level equipment. However, a good photographer could deliver amazing results with just the equipment stated (A Canon Digital Rebel and two amateur lenses). The fact is that the photographers don’t have much of a clue about photography and would have delivered the same result with top-of-the-line pro gear.
According to an online-survey in 15 countrries by Readers’ Digest, a majority voted that they would.
An average of 68 percent of respondents would still marry their current spouse.
Malaysia at 59% was at the bottom of the list while China topped with 83%.
The study’s results should be taken with a grain of salt, however, since the web-savvyness of the respondents (it being an online poll), the duration of the marriage, education, differences and similarities of the partners are some of the important parameters which were left unconsidered.
Updos can be v-e-r-y elaborate and time-consuming to style, or rather simple DIY jobs, depending on what you’re looking for. Here’s a nice example of the latter:
A wedding reception for a stranger-couple right out of town hall in New York provides a recipe for success. Here goes:
1) A fun-loving wedding couple
2) Good music and a first dance
3) A festive atmosphere (here with tents, costumed bridesmaids)
4) A wedding cake and a cake-cutting
5) An element of surprise
6) A few short speeches or toasts, saying nice (being vague makes no difference) things about the couple
7) Champagne flutes and something nice in them Gifts (doesn’t seem to be that important)
9) Rice - or bird feed - to shower the couple with
10) Surprise experiences which are out of the ordinary (here a rickshaw)
11) Cheers and laughter.

Here’s the winner of last year’s contest:
and 2007’s winner (where the bust area of the other winners are lacking, I thought that this winner found a good solution to the problem):
In 2006, the best looked so:
Unfortunately, the 2009 contest dealine has already passed, so this gives you enough time to prepare for 2010! Check out the website above for all the details.
